2011 3rd Annual Hawaii Wiener Derby

***My husband and I moved to Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii in 1999 from Northern California on a blind leap of faith. I work in the hospitality industry; my husband is in construction.

***Brought our two (2) minature dachies with us; we were all survivors of 30 day quarantine...what an emotional and stressful experience for all.

***Our girls, Jawni and Charli, were our children, our lives; no human children. Jawni passed away August 2007 at age 16 and Charli passed away October 2008 at  age 15 1/2. They were blood related half sisters. They were never separated "other" than quarantine and after Jawni passed away.  We were devoted to our girls, their health, their lives, you name it.

***Our veterinarian here on Maui was just awesome, Curtis Willaur (sp?), at Central Maui Animal Clinic. Incredible!! He and all of the staff are just Incredible!! Our hearts are still thankful to him and the way the whole staff "all" treated our girls (and us) all of their adult lives.

***I am emotionally "ready" for two more girls but, not quite yet. Maybe the "right" babies or young ladies have not come our way.  I would love smooth hair piebald and/or dapple, and close in age also.  I have names picked out though ;-)  Really, after my mom and her twin sister, Doris and Dora. Silly, huh?  Can't wait for the day.

***We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE dachies and everything dachi; seriously prefer minature. Since we have so much experience with the breed, we prefer to stick with dachshund ;-)

***Wow, about me...sorry...

***I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE God and my wonderful, husband; he and I actually "like" each other and prefer each other's company to most others.

***I love my job, husband enjoys his but needs more business these days.

***I LOVE, LOVE crafts and all things crafty. Also enjoy the internet more and more each day.  Also decorating, organizing, and reading. My husband LOVES his music; i.e., drums, guitar and keyboard, and most things to do with water, scuba, kayaking, yakboarding, snorkling and the beach.

***We just purchased our airline tickets today (05/17th) for the HI Weiner Derby and quite honestly I am so excited about being around so many dachies I will probably be in tears alot of the time there.  And the puppy races; I can picture myself at the finish line with a whole bunch of puppies jumping all over me licking my face....awww...heaven on earth...LOL  I hope to take a lot of pictures and of course, secretly praying for some miracle that two young girls of my recent dreams needing a home...awww...a precious dream.
